COVID-19 Impact: New Landlord/Tenant Code of Conduct
The Landlord/Tenant Code of Conduct has today come into force by way of regulation in NSW.
It sets out the compulsory code of conduct between Landlords and Tenants of retail leases and other commercial leases, having regard to the economic circumstances of the present COVID-19 pandemic. Landlords and Tenants now have a baseline structure for their discussions, and it will be interesting to see whether baseline commitments are the norm, or whether realistic commercial outcomes above the baseline will be agreed by Landlords.
